It’s strange but I’m happy to hear I’m not alone. Mine just started this year. I’ve been going crazy trying to figure it out. I just started to think that maybe the sun was causing it. I would like to know if anyone here has an autoimmune disease; lupus or rheumatoid arthritis.?
There was 1 thing I believe was actually helping my hands. I received a sample of this oil and I have used it all and now I’m going to order more. Maybe it was a coincidence, I’m not sure , but my hands felt better and the skin improved. I’m going to try it. I hope it’s ok but I’ll tell y’all what I used but please don’t think this is a cure, it’s just my experience. First Aid Beauty Ultra repair oat & hemp seed dry oil.
I also get these blisters at the beginning of every summer when I have a prolonged exposure to the sun. Especially when being out on the lake. They don't itch or painful, but they certainly don't make your hands look very attractive. Like others have stated, just keep your hands out of the sun for about a week and they will eventually go away.
I only started to experience these blisters in the last 5 years and I am 34. Not sure what suddenly caused it to happen, but it is a guarantee that each summer I will get these on my hands. I will only get them again if I am not exposed to the sun for an extended period of time, but I am outside a lot so it's very rare I will get them again for the rest of the summer.
I am going to try some benadryl on them tonight and see if it resolves faster than just waiting it out. Will update if it helps.
I was just searching the internet for "sun hand blisters" and I found your post. I get the exact same thing. Its started a few years ago, during a summer I was working outdoors, and getting waaay too much sun. Since that summer, I get them every year, sometimes (like today), after only a couple of hours outdoors, with weak sun. I am freaked out because last year I also started getting them on my nose. I haven't been to the doctor yet, but am considering going. I agree that it has nothing to do with a product/lotion...it's most definitly the sun. They can get really terrible... good luck finding a solution, and let me know if you find something that works!
I have same problem only started a year or so ago. currently got blistered hands, because of the sun I think. not no fingers or other parts of body, face unaffected. using aloe vera cream but still painful.
Hey, yes they are only on the hand only. Is there anything else i can do to stop them or calm them down, as its very hard to cover them up especially in sun? IM planning on going on holiday this year, and i dont wont the problem to come worse as they are very uncomfortable. ive have also started to wash my hands thoroughly before i go outside so there is nothing on them 2 irrate them, thanks. x
Hi,
Are the blisters only localized in your hands ?
Do you use any particular detergent, cream (aside from the sunblock) and lotions on your hands?
This may be a case of photosensitivity reaction. The more common form is a polymorphous light eruption which may present with reddish blisters or rash over the sun exposed areas. It doesn’t commonly involve the face. The rash may resolve spontaneously for days to weeks. I suggest that you have this assessed by your physician for further evaluation. Do avoid any sun exposure as this has been the primary trigger. Keep hands covered when planning for prolonged exposure outdoors.
