Ever since i can remember the top of my arms have been lighter than the bottom and its really embarrassing especially if my sleeves are short. Ive spent so much money on products trying to get rid of it so my skin would even out but nothing seems to work. Im running out of ideas now and i was considering lying down in the sun with the lighter area exposed but im not sure if that would be a good idea since its about 100 degrees this week. Any ideas on what i should do? I would like to wear a sleeveless shirt for once without being embarrassed of my arms.
If the temperature is 100 degree then it is not advisable to suntan without a sunscreen with spf 30. You should wear long sleeved cotton clothes and avoid going out in the sun. For the darkened skin, you can try various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period.
