large oily blackhead-like pores

i have large pores on my nose and cheeks and the areas in between that look almost like blackheads but not as solid because its just dirty oil. i can squeeze them out relatively easy but their are at least a hundred of them on my face. i have tried many difference face washes and the dirty pores dont ever go away.

i was considering getting an igea sucker to suck them all out but i want to know if anyone else had this problem.

Hi. See your doctor for a topical retinoid called Differin (adapalene 0.1%). This is very good at dealing with blackheads and acne. Do not try to remove the blackheads by squeezing as this can spread bacteria under the skin causing more breakouts. It can also delay healing and lead to secondary infection.
A good face wash for oily skin is Estee Lauder's Sparkling Clean. Washing alone will not heal acne or blackheads so do ask your doctor about Differin. Females with acne or oily skin may benefit from switching to a combined or anti-androgen contraceptive pill (Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Yasmin, Diane35) and avoiding the mini-pill.
Eloise.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

The problem of enlarged pores on face or facial pores is commonly associated with excessive oiliness and acne. The excessive oiliness of the skin is in turn triggered by the hormonal changes in the body. The black stuff that you notice can be due to collection of dus or grime.

Large pores can be easily dealt with proper cleansing and frequent toning and moisturizing of the skin. Other treatments to consider include microdermabrasion, skin resurfacing lasers and chemical skin peels.

In my opinion you should discuss these treatment options with a cosmetologist/dermatologist.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Did you try overnight sloughing agents?
Neutrogena has a salicylic acid overnight gel and Mario Badescu has a similar glycolic acid one.

Another thing you might try is getting a facial. Once the skin is cleared, keep using products with some AHA or skin cell sloughing agent in them and the spots might not come back.

I think what you are describing is the beginning of blackheads. They have not yet formed into hard blackheads, but the pore is beginning to get clogged and later you'll get a lot of blackheads.

Oh. And you could try Biore strips before any of this - cheaper and if that works, just continue washing your face - especially before you sleep at night.

I took tetracycline and it helped decrease the size of my large pores.

Even though I'm almost 30 I still have oily skin, I've been told that I'm lucky. But when I see a cluster of zits on my chin and spacking of blackheads on my forehead... I'm really not feeling lucky...lol

After unsuccessfully trying a couple of products from the aisles at Walgreens I decided to try the Complexion Scrub from the Shielo brand. From my experience I knew I needed a scrub to eliminate blackheads and help prevent breakouts, especially with summer coming. After 5 months of washing my face once a day like I have in the past, I ultimately fell in love with the Shielo Complexion Scrub , I believe it works just as good as Pro Active for less cost. I follow up the scrub using use products with witch hazel or tea tree oil to soothe my skin and keep my face from becoming overly dry.
