lip bumps

Hi,  I presnetly have 3 little bumps on the top of my lip.  Though they are not painful, they tend to get raised and when squeezed, some whitey thing comes out reducing them.  Im a bit conscious of them expecially when they are raised and not quite sure as to what is the cause of this.

Could i please get a reply back as to what it is likely to be i.e. a medical name and if there is a cure for it.

Thank you.

Hi

The lining of the lip is filled with glands. This may be an infection or blockage of one of these glands. At this point, I do not think this is folliculitis. You may need to have this assessed by your doctor so that a topical medication be given. The glands may be infected here or blocked which may explain the whitish discharge.

Hi,
No, they actually lie in the lining of my top lip, they don't have any hair follicles and are not flesh coloured.  When not raised, they have my dark skin complexion, but when they are, they are whitish with puffy discharge.

Hi

Do these bumps lie on the lip itself  ?
Are these bumps reddish or flesh colored?

Red colored bumps may be pimples or acne .They may also be folliculitis if they are noted to involve hair follicles. In your case, do these bumps involve hair follicles?  For flesh colored bumps, they may be molluscum contangiosum as these my also occur on the face.

Molluscum presents with a depressed or umbilicated center which contains a whitish cheesy discharge. Is this similar to your case? White heads may also be considered here.
