Hello,

Two possibilities are there.Firstly,it can be a boil. Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus.Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle.

Second possibility is of pilonidal cyst. There is a small pit at the very top of the crease between the buttocks which is called the pilonidal dimple. The pilonidal dimple may also be a deep tract, rather than a shallow depression, leading to a sinus which can become infected ,painful and drain.

Apply warm compresses on the bumps and keep the area clean.Drainage of the boil is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head.Take some over the counter pain reliever and consult a doctor for examination as treatment modalities for both are different.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.

It could be one of two things. Yeast in which you can use Monitstat Cream to clear up. You can apply it as often as you can because it is safe, but at least 4 times a day. Then keep the area dry after it clears up. Use the Monistat at least 5 days after it seems to be gone to be sure to kill all the yeast. After that get Cornstarch (not any powder as it tends to hold wetness to the skin), put in something like a sock to make a duster and dust area well to keep it dry from sweat, daily. Wash panties in soap free from dyes and perfumes (could irritate area then start over). Wear white cotten panties. Cotton collects wetness pulling it away from body. You can try a feminine deodorant for sensitive skin to see if it will control the sweat, but sweat will run down the area from above.

The other possibility is bacteria, which I tend to lean to since you mentioned boils. Get Betadine Dou--e (feminine product, they blank when I spell it out). Get the one that you self mix. Soak the area well at least 3 times a day, more if you want as it is safe. Dry well (do not rub, can use a hair dryer on low heat). Then apply the Cornstarch dust as above to keep dry. It should clear it up in about 7-10 days. When it appears to be healed continue an additional 5 days to be sure all bacteria is killed. If you can fine the feminine Betadine Cream it works great, but I have been unable to find for years now. Still use the cotton panties as above to help keep the sweat away with the f&c soap for baths and clothing for the irritant factor. Continue to use the Cornstarch as above to keep away wetness. You can try feminine deodorant spray(sensitive skin) to control wetness.

The area is perfect for yeast and bacteria because of wetness being held there. I use baby wipes for bowel movements as it carries bacteria. You may be able to just use the baby wipes as time goes by to keep area clean, but if you do sweat in that area, you do need to keep it dry. The fem. spray is handy to carry with you and do carry the baby wipes with you, putting some in a zip lock and keep in purse. Baby wipes are much cheaper than the feminine wipes. If you have any problem with the skin getting dry and cracking the monistat is good to use. I keep some handy and use it for any itchy spots or irritation in any of the groin area. Hope this helps. Send me a note to let me know about your progress.

This is a total shot in the dark but any chance you could have a slight overgrowthgrowth of candida in your body resulting from your pregnancy perhaps? Some people can develop a systemic candida infection and have it for years unknowingly. I have an overgrowth of candida from antibiotics, and I developed an acne like rash on my butt in August, which is totally uncharacteristic of my body. It grew quite rapidly and was very red, with some cystic like formations. I used acne meds on it, including Proactiv, which only seemed to make matters worse. After over two months with no relief, I started taking Epsoms salt baths at night. I wouldn't use any soap at all in the bath. All I would do is scrub the area with a wet washcloth really well and let it soak for 20 minutes or so. It looked better after 2 days, and even better after a week. It has been over a month and it is almost completely gone! I don't know if it was caused by the candida overgrowth but I think so. However, there is limited information regarding the subject online and a doctor is unlikely to back it up. Still, you might want to try. I know it's frustrating!
Let me know if it works for you :)
