facial cysts with fine hairs

Can anything be done for facial cysts that have very fine hairs in them? I can feel the hair, but I can't see them, although I have gotten very coarse hairs out. The hairs seem to be wound around like a cord and wrapped around my face.  I have tried accutane, have been on antibiotics, and I'm allergic to benzoil peroxide and differen. I'm 54 years old and have had the same cysts for 3 years.  My dermatologist did not believe me when I told her there were hairs in the cysts.  I am so sick of this and of not getting anywhere with my doctors.  Does anyone have any advice?  I don't even like going anywhere with this.

Hi, My mother had dental implants put in ever since has had nothing but pain and problems. Specifically,  for the past 1-2 years, she has lesions on her face and long hairs that look like silicone coming out.  No one has been able to help her.  What can she do, who can she see?  She will travel anywhere to do so.  We can also send you pictures.
Thanks so much!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It looks like a sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin. It can be caused by swollen hair follicles. However other causes of cysts also need to be ruled out. Consult a dermatologist and get it examined.

Usually no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected, then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I wish I knew what could help.  I don't have the cysts, but I definitely have the terminal hairs that drive me nuts, too.  I'm not talking about just a couple of hairs either.  I spend quite a bit of time pulling this stuff out everyday just to feel more feminine.  I'm too sensitive to even try the hair inhibitors, so I steer clear of the stuff.  I know about the corkscrew hairs.  Every so often I come across those.  They're hard to get out because they tend to go back under the surface of the skin, then they cause a zit to form.  Only when the zit is ready for me to get rid of it can I even get that corkscrew hair to resurface.  By then, it's much longer and I'm finally able to pull it out.  It's only good 'til the next time the hair grows back.  Yeah, I'm familiar with the ingrown hair.  I know what you mean about that.  It drives me nuts, too.  I've had it my whole life.

I guess the only thing I can say is to try to hold onto your self-esteem.  I really do know how self-conscious this stuff can make you feel.  I've had to learn to deal with it or I would be way too self-conscious to be able to deal with the world outside of my home.
