Firstly, one needs a little background information that will help convey my question. At the age of 27, I had contacted the chicken pox virus. I know now that i must have contracted the chicken pox from a girl friend, in fact, it was my only one. She was married and divorced and had two young children from her marriage. Otherwise, I don't see any other way that i could have gotten it.
I got these bumps on my face and top of the scalp. I let it persist for a few days before going to a dermatoligist. Doctor had confirmed chicken pox. Now, what he prescribed was a new medicine at the time. This was in 1986. The medicine had worked fast to rid of the infection and sores, but with scars.
What was the medicine? I have these little indentations on my skin now from where the sores were once on my skin.
Not only that, I have red discoloration on my face where some of the sores were. To describe it, there seems to be under the skin layer redish color.
Also, it seems that when I was infected the chicken pox, everything that i touched with my hands I would get a sore. I remember washing my hair. One uses the fingertips to wash the scalp. After the treatment with this medicine and healing, I have these ridges that goes in lines or groves on my scalp.
I would like to getvrid of these redish marks and groves or ridges(but no scarring there). Skin is perfectrly normal where the lined depressions are.
Can anything be done and if so to what degree?
thanks
steve
