Hi
It is difficult to exactly say as to what the lesion is, without an examination. A black bump on the chest can be a keloid, mole, birth mark, wart, abscess or some allergic eruption.
Keloids occur in skin after surgical incisions, traumatic wounds, vaccination sites, burn injuries. Keloids often run in families. They most often on the chest, back, shoulders, and earlobes. Keloids are firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules, and can vary from pink to flesh-colored or red to dark brown in color and usually turn unsightly. They sometimes get infected and tend to be itchy, tender, or even painful to the touch. If the keloid becomes infected, it may ulcerate.
Another possibility is a mole that has changed its colour or increased in size. This might indicate some precancerous changes. Hence, it is very important not to tamper the bump in any way, which may lead to complications like infection.
I suggest that you consult a dermatologist who can determine the cause and prescribe appropriate treatment for it.
Treatment would depend on the cause.
Take care
