Hi

It seems that it might be some dermatitic or eczematous rash. A reddish smooth rash is described as a macular rash. It can be caused directly or indirectly by stress, allergic reactions (hives) heat or sun exposure, bacterial, viral or fungal infections, underlying medical illness or medications. Scaling, blister formation, itching or ulceration may or may not accompany the rash.
There are several distinct types of dermatitis such as allergic contact dermatitis, irritant dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, etc. Similar skin conditions include pityriasis rosea, tinea corporis, psoriasis, nummular eczema, atopic dermatitis, drug reaction, erythema migrans, erythema annulare centrifugum (EAC) and other rashes.
Skin rashes are diagnosed clinically based on the history and appearance of the rash. You should consult a dermatologist for the exact diagnosis and treatment of the underlying cause. In the meanwhile, you should avoid irritants like perfumes and detergents. Sometimes a skin biopsy is conducted to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment options include corticosteroids, antifungal medication, and antibiotics like neomycin.
Do write in if you need some more information.
