weird bumps on base of penis

Hi,

I'm sure you guys have been swamped with so much questions regarding bumps on genitals. Apologies on posting another question regarding this. I have 2 bumps on the base of my penis, where it meets the skin of the scrotum. They're quite smooth and a little stiff to the touch. I read that sebaceous cysts move around under the skin, but these bumps don't. I had a bad habit of popping bumps on my scrotum before and I don't know if these are infected pores.

I went to a GP and was told that they're cysts and it's no big deal. I have been putting tea tree oil on the bumps and now it has dry skin on it. The smaller bump itches when the dry skin is present, the bigger bump is mildly tender to the touch.

I'm quite bothered by these bumps and would like some added knowledge to what they are. I have gone through photos of genital warts and these don't look like warts. My bumps are right on the skin, solidly planted while I noticed warts are somewhat like real bad skin tags. I do hope you guys can enlighten me on this. Thanks in advance!

Thank you kind sir for your reply. These bumps have been giving me uneccessary stress for quite awhile now. One of my said bumps seem to be getting a little smaller but it still has that dry, crusty skin on top. I will take on your advice and see how that works. If all else fails, I'll have to face the music and drop my pants again at a docs office. Tough. Thank you once again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Maybe the lump that you are mentioning is folliculitis or cyst since it is hairy. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.

The other possibilities are molluscum contagiosum(multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug) or genital warts(caused by HPV infection but less likely in your case).

Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You  can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lump persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
