Anyone get headaches after going low in blood sugar?

I'm prone to headaches, especially after laying down at night, but I've noticed that I get pretty bad ones after going low in blood sugar. I'm a Type 1 diabetic. Anyone else have this problem and is there a remedy for it?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.  Hypoglycemia or low blood sugar can indeed result in a headache and sometimes severe.  https://www.migrainetrust.org/about-migraine/trigger-factors/hypoglycaemia/  You may find this treatment guide helpful as well.  https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hypoglycemia/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20373689.  Are you having trouble managing your type 1 diabetes?   I would talk to your doctor about how to keep your range at as consistent of a level as possible.  https://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com/blog/diabetes-headaches-soothing-aching-head/   Talk to your doctor about this.

Hi, it is not uncommon to have headache or otherwise feel unwell when blood sugar goes too high or too low.

Though it is easier said than done, keeping blood sugar stable and within a fairly narrow range is the best bet.

Frequent testing of blood sugar to catch lows before they become a problem is a good bet.

I find blood sugar is easier to manage if I eat low carb... which means less insulin dosing and less risks for low blood sugars.

What a surprise to read that a nurse is advising low carb.
I went low carb and my numbers were back to normal very quickly - and I feel great. My Hba1c of 41 was last summer, so hopefully I am even lower now.
