1)Where can i find up-to-date true research updates on diabetes?
I would go to JDRF's main page and sign up for their newsletter, as well as reading some information pertaining to research.

3)Are there "Lantus pens" in the U.S.?
I am honestly unsure. After 6-1/2 yrs. of injections, my son went on the pump last August. We never used insulin pens. I found some information about lantus cartridges, but not a lot. Talk to your endocrinologist and pharmacist.

4)In your opinion, what is the best, most convenient and fastest glucose meter?
We have used Lifescan's One Touch Ultra & Ultra Smart glucometers. It takes 5 seconds and the company has always been helpful. You do not need a lot of blood and it is only 5 seconds, but someone else might have another brand that they can post info. on for you.
