When I get sick(i'm 28) the same things happen to me. I just inject a little bit more insulin and keep close eye on my levels. You're doing great for such a young age

Hi,

it is not unusual to have higher than normal blood sugars when sick.  They typical approach is to increase your correction doses of insulin along with frequent monitoring.

Are you able to test for urine ketones?  If you are and they are high you should contact your dr.  How high is your blood sugar?  If it is consistently above 200, then you should also contact your Dr for advice.

If you feel particularly unwell, then please go to the nearest emergency room for further treatment as they may need to give you hydration and IV insulin to get your sugars under control.

Please come back and let us know how you are going.  Hope you are feeling better already by the time you see this response.
