Are all blood sugar meters the same?

I am newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I used an old meter from Precision Neo and my numbers were around 130 no higher than 158. My endocrinologist gave me a One Touch and my numbers are at 174 all week. Mornings are 130 or 113. Either my new meter is more sensitive, or I'm struggling..I'm very thirsty and my fingers are numb. I've walked and I eat a good diet. I meet a nutritionist on Tuesday. I stick to a low carb and high protein diet. I do enjoy fresh fruit. Not excessive though. Not sure how to bring my sugar down.

All meters have a 20% error. so one meter is as good an another.

So you eat Low Carb High Protein.     We know that fruit has carbs... carbs raise BG.

WHY do people INSIST on using SUBJECTIVE descriptions.   I dont know what YOU call low carb.  I call low carb under 50 gr a day.  I dont know what YOU call EXCESSIVE fruit  I call 1 banana excessive!  I dont know what YOU call a good die!

Thank you for giving actual BG numbers ... may people say " my fasting is HIGH" of what use it that info?

Carbohydrates raise BG... stress can raise BG so can illness.  High protien can raise BG (its slower and less effective than carbs at raising BG).

Exercise lowers BG, drugs lower BG!

those are the tools to control BG
