I've used humalog like mechanism to inject better than no color. Same blood sugar results in the be beginning insulin worked well not after several years. But to ur question once you establish ur insulin  level can't over emphasize diet and exercise important they are

I have been taking the humalog after eating. So my numbers seem to be pretty high. I'm going to try taken it before eating to see if that works.

Please take the Humalog before eating.  YOu should also know about how much carbs you are eating in any one meal (and protein) because the correct dose of insulin also depends on how much carb you eat.  For example, I need 2 units of insulin for 15 g of carbohydrate, and 1 unit of insulin for 30 g of protein.  YOu may be different.  But you will need to work out what is correct for you.

are you using a mixed insulin, or a plain Humalog?

I use plain Humalog, as my fast acting insulin, and I take it before eating or if I need to correct a high blood sugar.

Some people use mixed insulin, which contains both a fast acting and a long acting insulin. This may be labelled as 70/30 or 50/50.

If you are taking mixed insulin, it will be important not to skip meals, and to eat on time, to avoid going low.

overall, insulin is a great tool.  It will give you much better control of your blood sugars.

I havnt seen a lot of results yet.
