Kidney problems and legs and toes change

I was taken off Metformin due to something the doctor picked up on my blood test re: kidneys irregularities. Since that time of not taking Metformin  ,,, I have had trouble with my legs swelling up with normal walk around the house, cramps in the left thigh area and also my cramps extending to my feet and toes ... cramps are extending to the instep of my foot also . What is happening to me and what can I do to overcome the recent reactions of the legs and toes

Hello,

are you still monitoring and controlling your blood sugar levels?

What are they?

In my experience, I get muscle cramps from high blood sugars / fluctuating blood sugars.

I recommend you should follow up with your Dr. immediately for this problem to be sure that it is properly addressed.

Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. The cramps could be due to electrolyte imbalance and dehydration (common if you have kidney problems). Other possibilities are pinched nerves in lower back, and deep vein thrombosis.
The swelling in legs is also not a good sign. This could be due to compromised kidney function. Other possibilities are heart related causes, faulty valves in deep veins of legs or liver related causes.  Please consult your doctor regarding this immediately. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
