advice urgent

just been to wake my diabetic type2 husband up which is unusual.
he has been poorly with diaohhrea for 3 days which seems to have settle now. he hasn't eaten to clear his system and has not wanted anything to drink apart from a few sips of water.
when I went in ( he is usually up and about before me ) he felt cold on his face but his body was wet through with sweat. he was trying to clear his throat and couldn't talk at first  and when he did it was gibberish. my  first instinct was to phone a ambulance but he seemed to come round and I said I would get the doctor. he gripped my arm and said please don't. emotionally I want to do as he asks and look after him myself (he hates fuss) but I feel he needs more than my care. his face looked swollen at first I thought.
he always puts this on me that if I loved him I would do as he wants.  he is still in bed but more settle now should I wait and see or phone doctor.
sorry if I sound silly but he gets so angry if I want to call for help

Hi.  Thank you for getting back to us. Am so glad you did get him to the hospital quickly. It won't be easy days ahead, but he is alive and in good hands it seems.  I hope he can make a good recovery. Look after yourself too.  Not easy having your husband so sick.

thankyou glad I listened to you. hes in coronary care he has had  a DKA which is unusual for type2
this has cause a heart attack with a heart rate of 30 so they put a tube down through his throat next to fit a temp pacemaker which seems to have kickstarted it and hes now levelling at 60
they main problem now is renal failure but they need to stabilise him first before they consider dialysis which will happen today if he can tolerate it.
must say medical staff has been first class or he would have been dead now. will keep you all informed.

This sounds like diabetic ketoacidosis (combination of dehydration, high blood sugar, being sick).

Him being argumentative and not wanting assistance is part of it.

But this is life threatening and he may go into a coma and could die.

Please get immediate medical attention (ambulance) as is your instinct.  Better safe than sorry.

Please get back to us after you have gotten assistance to let us know you're husband is ok.

Please call an ambulance now.  Don't listen to him.  This is a medical emergency.
