Unless of course you are genetically predisposed to diabetes, but eggs are a great food to help keep those blood glucose levels in check.

In my humble opinion, if you are eating eggs (no  carb), you are eating less carbs / grains, and maintaining your blood sugar at ideal levels, so yes, the progression to type 2 diabetes would be less.
