the nromal range (although not for everybody) would be around 100. if your or someone elses is different, higher or lower, ask your doctor before you become worried.
In order to provide the correct measuring unit it would help to know your country of origin. This is what the Stanford School of Medicine says in mg/dl. You will have to do the mmol/l conversion as needed:
Infant -
Normal glucose levels for infants are between 40 and 200 mg/dl. Constant levels, however, lower than 50 mg/dl leads to neurolgical damage.
Children up to 5
For children up to age 5, normal blood sugar targets are 100 to 200mg/dL. Fasting blood sugars should be near the low end of the range.
Children 5-11
For children who are between the ages of 5 and 11, normal blood sugar targets are 70 to 150mg/dL. Fasting blood sugars should be nearer to 70mg/dL. Blood sugar after meals and before bedtime should be near 150mg/dL.
Children 12 and older
Follow what Sally provided on adult levels
Hi,
Truely normal blood sugar in adults will be close to 83 and will not vary much at all from this point, and definitely under 100 nearly all the time. In children it may be a bit lower, but probably not lower than 70.
Fasting levels 99 - 125 are considered prediabetic
Fasting levels > 126 are considered diabetic.
2 hours after eating numbers should not be above 120, and numbers above 140 will be considered diabetic.
