Lose 10-15 lbs.

Hey all, I am getting married in July and currently weight 140lbs. I gained about 10 lbs. In nursing school and would like to drop 10-15 pounds by July 2014 for my wedding. Does anyone have any tips?

I agree that you should cut down on bread and simple carbs; however, feel free to eat all the complex carbs you like, such as those found in veggies, whole grains, nuts, seeds, etc.

If you drink soda, eliminate that from your diet and make water your drink of choice.  Many people report losing quite a few pounds with just this one change.

Make sure you eat high quality, lean protein with every meal and snack.  A good snack might be an apple with peanut butter, where the apple is the fiber and the peanut butter is the protein.  Watch the peanut butter, though, because it does have a lot of fat, even if it's "good" fat.

Reduce the carbs you eat. I took out bread as this started to cause me trouble and replaced with homemade alternatives. One of which was banana pancakes made with ground down almond instead of flour. Delicious!
