Sunday Weigh In November 28, 2021

Good morning.  I'm running pretty late this morning because we have company coming for late Thanksgiving dinner.  The daughter and her clan has to go to the opposite side of the family for Thanksgiving day, so we do the late one.  Late is better than not at all.  Anyway, I've spent the morning cooking and doing last minute cleaning (which is most of my cleaning...ll)

The week has been pretty quiet.  I spent most of it in the shop making pens.  My granddaughter likes to give her teachers each a pen I've made, so this year, there were 2 to make, along with one for a friend of our daughter.  I ended up making 4, so there's a tiny bit of choice.  I've been working with acrylic, which is difficult to put it mildly, but I did manage to get some good ones, along with the ones I ruined... :-)

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning.  I'm pretty disappointed with the way things have been going.  According to my blood work, my thyroid hormone levels have actually gone down from 3 months ago... can't imagine how that's happening but we'll see what the doctor says.  In addition, my glucose level was up the highest it's ever been - not quite to the diabetic level, but not a long ways away either.

At any rate, I'm down about a pound, with which I'm happy, but I'm afraid the doctor isn't going to think it's all that great!!.

Anyway, that's my woes - what about you?  Were you able to read your goal(s) for this week?

~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

Considering that this week was Thanksgiving, I got lucky and am down 1.7 lbs. Now, last week I was up a pound, but it's still a loss overall, and that's nice. We had a pretty non-snacking time, since we had moved to the farm for the week and there wasn't a lot of snack supply there, and then there was Thanksgiving food around (Hungry? Have some turkey!). I'm sure that made the difference. Let's see if I can keep it up. I'd like to drop a solid two pounds (that stays dropped) by Christmas.

We've been bustling, especially since moving to the farm and moving back all within a week is kind of a lot of work. We pack our own stuff, all the food that will spoil, a bunch of other food, and the cats' and dogs' food and supplies, and the cats and the dogs, and go. Next time I'm going to suggest we only do it when we can stay longer, it's so much work! But it was a good thing to be at the farm, it was peaceful and nostalgic. But it is needing attention. Even the dishwasher gave up by Thanksgiving night ... I did the first load of Thanksgiving dishes in the dishwasher and the second load by hand. Also, the washing machine's motherboard was recently fritzed by a power surge. Staying there is like living in a college-student flat -- you try to avoid messing up a lot of dishes because you'll have to wash them by hand, and you take your laundry home to mama.  I won't really be able to address the farm's woes until well after our move and the sale of our house, and even then will be focusing on the newer house first. But we'll be there for good after our son graduates from high school (only 3 1/2 years!) and so I can't let the whole place go to rack and ruin.

We had both a turkey and a Tofurkey this year, due to one of the three of us being a vegetarian. That was interesting! We also had two kinds of stuffing, one made with chicken broth and the other made with soy broth. The rest, no problem, we could all eat scalloped potatoes and cranberry relish and pie.

See you next week!
