Support needed please!

Hello. I'm Maxine, 45 years old from UK. I'm currently 230lb through my own fault of comfort eating, boredom, and laziness. I've been overweight for years & I'm also a yo yo dieter.

It's time for change for me as I was recently diagnosed with mild arthritis of my hips and spine which was a shock to say the least & also a very high cholesterol reading. It is all my own fault through years of not looking after myself healthwise.

My weight goal is 126lb which I AM going to achieve this year.

I have a holiday planned to Florida on 27th September & I don't want to be covering up my flabby body with layers of clothing!!

I have support at home but would love online support as I love this app for calorie counting exercise etc.

Thank You

Slow down on the high fibers until your body gets used to it; that will slow down the "bad wind"... LOL

I'm from FL..

Thank you for your support. So far I'm doing really well, I've not waivered of my diet yet. Lots of vegetables and nutty wholemeal bread are helping although it gives bad wind lol.

I'll join the summer weight loss challege as I usually hate hot summers as I'm covered up wearing leggings/ shirts etc whereas I should wear vests/shorts. This year with my willpower, support, I might just get to wear those shorts.

Whereabouts are you both from?

Dear Maxine. My first thought for you is to dig deep inside. Get a better feeling of self worth.  Mistakes have been made. It's ok.
Mack a choice to eat healthy. Reward yourself when you eat less.
It's great you recognize your triggers.  Boredom.  Select a great book you've been meaning to read.  Listen to a podcast on the radio.
Get involved in a charity.  Good luck on your trip.   Pamela

Sorry I didn't respond to your comments sooner.  Of course, we are here to support anyone who is embarking on a weight loss journey.  Please just tell us how we can best support you.

You might want to join our Summer Weight Loss Challenge that was just started last week.  We're running it for 16 weeks, but it's never too late to get in.  You can access it via the following link:

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Weight-Loss--Dieting/SUMMER-WEIGHT-LOSS-CHALLENGE/show/2118666

You might also want to join the Sunday Weigh In, which I post every Sunday morning, so we all have a place to record our progress (or lack of).  That thread can be accessed via the following link:

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Weight-Loss--Dieting/Sunday-Weigh-In---March-16--2014/show/2123865

A new weigh in thread will be posted every Sunday for the next 16 weeks (and beyond if interest continues).
