Boxing is great for weight loss and fun, we have had personal trainers come to our gym just to do jiu jitsu (grapple) and are exhausted after 5 mins literally. Long runs arnt the way id go, find yourself a big set of stairs (near a beach or something) Sprint to the top touching every step with both feet then jog back down to get your breather. Do this 10 to 15 times 3/4 times a week and watch the results!EXPLOSIVE! :)
Interval training is the best. Helps burn fat faster and helps keep it off

Anything you enjoy, that keeps you moving. Walking is always really good, but whatever you choose, aim for 30/day at least 3 days/week, but an hour/day 5 day/week is best if you can.
