is it healthy to eat a 1500 calorie diet with minimal exercise?

I am a 17 year old girl weighing about 140ish and I am wanting to get down to about 130 pounds. I have been trying this diet on this app of eating a 1500 calorie diet. I eat healthy but should drink a lot more water. I don't exercise that much, but I used to be extremely active (exercising 4 times a week, sometimes 3 practices a day, weight lifting, basketball team, track, cross country). My question is: if I eat a 1500 healthy calorie diet with minimal exercise, will I lose weight? and will the weight stay off?

You need to cut approx. 500 calories a day from your usual intake to lose 1ib a week. The weight will be lost, but the likelihood is that you will put it back on again once you've lost it if it's only minimal exercise.

That all depends on your basic metabolic rate... You have to calculate your calorie needs based on your current age, weight, height and activity level.

You do need some type of exercise, as exercise builds muscle and muscle burns fat...

The app should help you calculate your calorie needs.
