What does cloudy Liver mean?

My daughter in law's mother was told her liver is cloudy and the hospital plans to do a liver biopsy to rule out liver cancer.

Could this be a possibility?

Imkindly makes a very valid point in her question to you. Why have you not responded?

What is your motivation here?

Cloudy liver is usally caused by toxic injury, like pesticides, medicaments, or some other toxins - industrial toxins.

Some parts of liver suffer injury on the cellular level.

She should get liver herbs and use them daily (Milk Thystle, Black Walnut, flaxseed oil, Dandalion, Sage, Redish, ...)
Also, castor oil packs are good and may help!

Changing diet is also of great importance!

Why would you recommend that she take any substances (dandelion, etc.)------without FIRST asking what symptoms she's dealing with?

For example---dandelion will make encephalopathy much worse.
(You know that, right?)

I've never heard of Cloudy liver either.  Having a liver biopsy done is the best way to find out what is wrong with the liver.  In the meantime, she should eat a nutritious diet.  Avoid junk food.  And drink plenty of liquids.  Good luck and post again and let us know how she is doing.
