what do you all think is wrong?

I have been having troubles for a while with a bloating fullish feeling on my left side kinda between my belly button and my hip bone, the last couple of days tho i have also had some mildish pains under my ribcage on my right side, i do suffer from ibs C and i have acid reflux to which i had surg. for in ,97, I have a TON of air gurgling around in my belly and i am burping lots , i went to the dr. and he said he thinks it is a bowel blockage and to go on a liquid diet, okay that may be part of it but this has been going on for over a year now, i have had a upper gi done , every thing was fine, they did some blood work a while ago all was fine with the liver etc. so any ideas what else this could be? it is driving me NUTS i am at a really loss of what else it could be or what to do about it, any suggestions?? so i have been on a liquid diet now for a couple of days and i have been taking senokot and perscription stool softeners yes i have been going to the bathroom not tons but some, so i am not sure what to think, as i sit here and type this it is bothering me, the dr. pushed on the area it is somewhat tender, please if you have any ideas let me know before i go crazy

Your symptoms sound a little bit like what I've read about diverticulitis.  Have you and your doctor explored that possibility?

I have to tell you, that is exactly what is going on with me but the spot your talking about between the belly button and hip bone gets really severe for me sometimes.  The doctors are at a loss for me also.  I have only been suffering for 7 months now but I am beginning to be able to "deal" with the pain at this point because all the tests I've gone through have been normal thus far.  I go for an upper GI next friday, a pelvic ultrasound on Monday and so far my diagnosis is IBS-C.  I am on Zelnorm, colace 6x/day, Miralax, and Dulcolax at the worst.  I can't understand that diagnosis when I have never had a problem with by bowels until then and I am 31 years old.  The fullness makes me feel as if I have to go but of course nothing comes out and the straining causes the pain to get worse.  Do you find that when you do try to go to the bathroom urine comes out too evn after you feel the bladder is empty.  I am asking because sometimes uterine fibroids can also cause this type of problem.  Try that route if you can't get any answers.  Hope you feel better and I look forward to hearing how you're doing and what you find out.

This is a GI you're seeing right? Also, how about a colonoscopy? I'm sure you had this done if you were diagnosed with IBS. If not, there's no-way to a definative IBS diagnosis. The colonoscopy would also show a blockage. How about CT-Scanning and abdominal X-Rays? It sounds like your doctor is doing his job! I'd find another and make sure it's a GI you're seeing. There's obviuosly something going on, but you'll need the proper testing.
