12 yr schnauzer w/enlarged spleen, elevated liver enzymes, low red ct, heart mur

My 12 yr old schnauzer fell from the bed this morning and had a seizure that lasted several minutes and 8 hours later had another one, we immediately took him to the vet and found he had a very enlarged spleen, elevated liver enzymes, heart murmur, low red blood count. The vet said immediate spleen removal was an option but at his age and with other issues she wanted us to think about it over night.  I am out of town at my sisters and was advised not to travel 3 hours home to my own vet so in a few hours I will take him to the vet hospital here in the Austin area. Scooter has been very active and shown no signs of being sick, he is the most loyal pet I have ever had and after my husband passed away only a few months ago I am devastated about scooters health.  Does anyone have any information that would help me know what to do?  Please,
