8 year old rottweiler

I have an 8 year old rottweiler who has stopped eating and drinking and is very lethargic. Let me start by saying that I have been out of town on/off for a little over 3 weeks now. She has remained in my home with fiance and children who she has grown up with. I was alerted a few days ago that they didn't think she felt well and when I arrived home last night she did get up to greet me but then layed back down. I got her to eat a small piece of chicken and she is drinking some water this morning. Do you think perhaps she was just simply sad that I was not around or that it is something more serious?? I am VERY limited on funds right now or she would have already been to the vets office.

I completely agree with Margot.  There's just no way to tell what the problem could be without having her examined by a vet and since she is a senior dog, something that might be minor in a young dog could quickly become serious if left untreated.  Please keep us up to date on how she is.
