Do I have Rabies

A few days ago I was walking around and this old lady was walking her two dogs, both of whom attacked me. One scratched my leg with a minor scratch, no blood, and a day later the marks are almost gone; however, on my left leg there is a scab with a scratch in the similar height as the scratch on my other leg so I do not know if I have rabies or not and do not remember if the dogs scratched me. I did not get the contact information but the owner asked if the dogs scratched me and I said it's okay and walked away. I do not know this owner and am feeling tingling in my legs after 1 day - it could be placebo. Please help.

Did the Lady say that it was wierd for her dogs to act up? Rabies side effects start with slight changes of attitude in animals. But I do not think it is very likely that you have it. Most likely your nerves are just shocked from the experience, kind of like how someone would explain the feeling after doing something scary or dangerous, it's a side effect of the adrenaline sometimes.

Even if the dog has rabies, which is highly unlikely, unless the dog is showing symptoms of the disease it is not shedding the disease in its saliva.  So heaven forbid, even in the HIGHLY unlikely event that the dog IS infected, unless it was acting sick and staggering and foaming when you were scratched, it was not shedding the disease.
Rabies IS a scary thing, don't get me wrong, but it is not nearly as prevalent in pets as it is in wild animals.  Raccoons and other wild animals (especially bats) are common carriers of the disease but unless the old lady allows her dogs to just roam free and get into fights with wild animals the threat of one of them having rabies is pretty much nonexistent.
If you would feel better, comb the neighborhood until you find her and ask her if her dogs are vaccinated.  If she is elderly then chances are she lives very near to where you met her so she shouldn't be all that difficult to find.

These are obviously domesticated dogs so them having Rabies would be unlikely.  She was probably walking the dogs in her neighborhood so perhaps you could track her down and ask to see proof of Rabies vaccination.  Maybe she walks the same time every day.  Go back there and, if anyone is out, ask if they know where she lives.  Not sure what you mean by tingling?  Did you clean the area? If it looks red or swollen, have it checked but I doubt I would be concerned about Rabies.
If those dogs had Lyme disease they would be sick.  Dogs get Lyme from ticks.  People do not get Lyme from dogs but could get it from ticks also.

I think that I would be more worried about Lyme Disease.  Watch for the bulls eye rash, thats a tell tale sign of that disease but yet not everyone experiences the same rash.  If it doesn't clear up within the next few days, I suggest you go to the doctor. Wish you luck!!
