Does early liver disease and/or SAMe cause bloody diarrhea in dogs?

My 16 year old, 11 pound dachshund has ALKP 810, ALT 440, Retics 1.1, HCT 60.2, WBC 3.70, RBC 10.51...which does show early liver disease.  She has had bloody diarrhea, possibly from 1/2 2X daily SAMe 225??? It has improved by not giving it to her...I changed her from Fromm Weight Management food to Royal Canin Hepatic; my vet gave her a shot of diathal and put her on endosorb, and the diarrhea is better. I think the dose of SAMe is too high?? And, after breaking the pill, the rest of it cannot be used???
