Dog May be Pregnant?

I have a 3 year old Great Pyranees/st.bernard Mix.
She has always went into heat regularly about every 5 months. When shes in heat she swells& bleeds like all dogs in heat. And we keep her in her kennel through out her heat cycle except for walks. 2 months ago though while she was in heat she slipped out and now shes showing signs of pregnancy in dogs. And its too soon for her to be in heat again, and way too long for her to still be in. (i haven't been able to get the money to get her fixed or i wouldn't worry.) i was wondering if anyone knew more signs of dog pregnancy?
OR
Are we just going to have to wait and see if she is or isn't?

She was abandoned by my neighbors with her brother. We got him a home easily. Where i live its quite easy to get  a home for large mix breed dogs since people use them the watch cattle and homes. and because people where im from LOVE big dogs, mixed or not.

You should have waited until you had enough money to have your dog fixed before you got her, especially such a large one. I wish you luck on trying to get rid of huge, mixed breed puppies.

I've had experience with Puppies before and  dogs giving birth. I was usually there for support or if a dog needed help with birthing. But never a dog as large as mine now shes about 112ibs.  We really wanted to get her fixed it just for such a large dog it costs alot more and we cant afford that much at the moment. She IS and outside dog, but stays in my room with me often. Sense the suspicion of her being pregnant she has either stayed in her kennel, in the house or on our back porch under our eyes.

I do know how to take her temperature.  At first her appetite was normal a little less, and now its slowly increasing. Her teats are quite large and her stomach is tighter than normal. If we do find out that she is, she'll stay in my room when shes in whelping stage. I can make a whelping area for her in my closet.

Thanks alot for the help btw it means alot.  Im hoping if she is she wont have complications but both me and my mom have helped delivered puppies and kittens.

That's too bad you couldn't have had her spay and avoided this.
Gestation period is approximately 63 days.  How long was she out for and do you have the approximate dates?  If so, mark your calendar and roughly count 63 days from that date.
That is a big dog so she may or may not be looking like she is gaining weight.  Her teats may or may not be increasing in size.  Squeeze a couple of them and see if you see any discharge.  Check her vulva.  It would probably be swollen and you may see a slight sticky discharge.  Has her appetite increased?  If she was bred when she was out, she may be nearing whelping.  Do you know how to take a doggie temp with a rectal thermometer?  The best thing to  do is to take her to the Vet to be checked.  Aside from that, if she is near a due date, you do not want to be leaving her alone and running loose.  I'm not sure where she sleeps but you may want to keep her confined to a room and give her some blankets, towels, etc,  Most females will *nest* when they are getting close to whelping. Do not let her outside alone.  She may definitely try to hide under something or try to dig a hole to whelp in.  The dog will often get restless when it is getting time to whelp. Watch to see if she is restless or seems uncomfortable.  If she is in whelp, I pray she doesn't have complications delivering.  Have you ever delivered a litter or taken care of pups?
Keep us posted.  I would try to get her into the Vet to be checked.

Hi, Dogd are pregnant for not very long so if she is pregnant she will be due in about 2 - 3 weeks. I suggest she needs to go to the vet. The dog will be more tired than usual and more hungry. She will not let a male dog near her. She will be looking for more attention than usual. A widening of her waist and larger teats. You may even be able to feel something moving in her tummy. Good luck I hope she isn't for you. Give her a hug
