Hi. This is not untypical. I myself have two rescues, one 10yrs the other 6yrs, and they are exactly the same at meal times. My answer to this is simply to put their bowls a good 3 yards away from each other and then stand between them while they eat, correcting any reactions instantly with a firm "NO" to the offender.

In my case, one dog is more submissive than the other, and the more dominant dog will always try to take the other dog's food, if she can. You therefore may have a similar situation, with one of your dog's playing up to his or her dominant status.

The other important thing here is to make sure their food bowls are only left down for as long as you are supervising them - the same with treats, chews, etc., otherwise a fight may easily break out and, yes, both dogs could end up with injuries. Once both dogs have finished eating (even if they don't eat all that is in the bowls) pick the bowls up and remove them from the vicinity, as this will prevent them fighting over any scraps that may be left.
