If you still have your sanity after two years with Siberian huskies.
Mine have me well trained too.

You should write a book about Siberian husky behavior = )
Your huskies sound a lot like mine. When she went through that "not eating" stage it was a power struggle - and I lost!!!! She wouldn't eat her food but she learned to enjoy such gourmet food as pizza, Chinese food, etc.
I am glad they are eating something.
Miss Puff (my husky) sends her regards (but no food)

To all,
thanks for the input, they will eat science diet but now its dry, cant have anything with it. Thats only once a day though, the rest they will eat rice with meat, and canned dog food. But when it comes to cheese muffins and or bread, they will gobble it down in 11 seconds flat (I actuallt timed it) haha.
Regards to all.
This picky eating that Siberian huskies seem to have is interesting. You have both taken your huskies to the vet. Huskies are stubborn and intelligent. Do you either of you think they are engaging in a power struggle or "who's the real boss here" with you or that they really are bored with their food.
Hope your huskies are alright.

It's so strange this is happening. My 5 and a half month old husky/shepherd suddenly lost interest in his food. He lost about 3 pounds in 3 days. I took him to the vet assuming it was something like worms but they wouldn't check for worms because he had a check up 4 weeks ago. They said it's possible he ate some sort of plant or something that he wasn't supposed to and it's made him ill. They gave me some amoxicilyn and put him on a bland canned food diet from Hills (similar to science diet). Maybe they too got into something they weren't supposed to. When was the last time thye were at the vet, it's possible that they might have worms which makes them lose their appetite. A check up wouldn't hurt let us know what the vet says.
Hi
Siberian huskies can be picky eaters - I've had generations of huskies and our "newest" one was exactly like yours - she was an extremely picky eater. She actually lost weight so we took her to the vet. We tried putting gravy on her food but had to vary the flavor of the gravy almost constantly. We tried changing her dog food too. It was a real "battle of wills". Not very scientific but sometimes I think huskies are trying to show they're the boss, not us. It caused us a lot of worry.
For the first year or so, we had to keep varying her food, using gravy, whatever it took to make her eat. The food you mentioned feeding your huskies sounds fine except maybe for the apples. If your huskies are like ours, they will eventually outgrow this and begin to eat.
If you think they have lost weight, take them to the vet. Some vets have dog food that is specifically for picky eaters.
Enjoy your huskies = )
