Thanks for this Tony.
Can we trust huge multinational companies with the welfare of our loved ones? Nope. Not always. Not when profits count more than ethics, there are many $$ involved, and too many vested interests.
My solution to this was to find a good (award-winning) healthy dog food in my country, made by a small-ish UK company. After researching them I knew I had some real wholesome food for my dog, and completely gave up buying her ANY store-bought products, including treats of any kind.
Thanks for posting this, Tony.
I have checked whatever dog products I buy to make sure they were not made on China. I have noticed, at least here, Costco no longer carries the jerky made in China.
Tony,
What do you feed your dogs? I have been researching this topic & was trying to the best for my sweet beagle, Daisy. She recently began having seizures. Also, I see you mentioned the dog food Beneful, is that for all their products? I was not able to pull up the article, but will keep trying. Thanks.

Hi. I feed my dogs two meals a day. The first (let's call it breakfast) is a simple but excellent manufactured tinned food (Chappy), which has mostly fish in it. The reason I give this is to ensure the dogs get a whole bunch of nutrients, minerals, omega-3s and vitamins. This is a relatively small meal, but enough to set them up for the day.
Their second meal, (let's call it dinner) is more involved. I buy all natural frozen blocks of "Natures: Menu" containing nothing other than meat or fish. These come in beef, lamb, rabbit, white fish, chicken, turkey and (their favorite) green tripe varieties. I cook an amount of this fresh, then mix with either boiled white rice or pasta and a few vegetables - usually some of the veg we are having with our own dinner.
They also get all natural treats, which are usually GoodBoy rice bones and they love them later in the evening.
Although I have been feeding my dogs with this regime for many years, I had one dog live to be 20, one live to be 12, and our current two (aged 4 and 9 respectively) are still going strong. I can't say this is right for all people or for all dogs, but it certainly seems to provide a good, healthy, balanced and varied diet for them.
