Si Miao San and Stomach Happy

Hi,
Si Miao San was recommended for my dog by Dr. Cheng as well as Stomach Happy if he gets digestive upsets from taking any of the recommended Chinese herbal medicine.  Can I put both of these herbal remedies together in his food?  What is a recommended Stomach Happy dosage for a 44lb dog with a very weak, sensitive stomach.  He had a ruptured intestine shortened 3 years ago.

I was going to start him on a very low dosage for Si Miao San to get his system used to the remedy since when I gave him the recommended amount, he got diarrhea.

Thanks!

How  can I reach Dr. Cheng? I have an older dog who was on phenol for many years now. He developed Cushings and is on vetoryl and still on phenol. We had to increase the dose due to a recent small seizure. He also has a slipped disk in his back. The phenol is making his back end more goofy as he adjusts to the new dose of the phenol.  Can I give him Si Miao San on these other things or not? Also, can I give him selenium and gingko or not? Do you know? Do you know how I can reach Dr. Cheng and perhaps get the name of a veterinarian in PA who is also a natural remedy doctor?

Thanks so much,
Mary Anne

I love my vet but she is not very experienced with natural remedies. I need a combo vet in western medicine and also natural remedies to help me with this poor boy.

Thanks so much,

He gets diarrhea from anything new in his diet or even when I change his food, so I wasn't surprised when this happened.  I wanted to find out other people's experiences using these remedies, then go back and ask the Dr. Cheng again.

I agree with ginger899 that you should get back with the doctor that recommended these remedies.  In the meantime, what I have always been told by my own Chinese doctors is that if the remedy is causing worse symptoms, quit using it.

I'm really sorry because I know a bit about Herbal medicine, but Western system....and know nothing about Chinese Herbal medicines.
I suggest you post back on the Expert Forum for Dr Cheng. I am sure she will get back to you.
