in Israel only rabbles is a must, but thats only due to the human danger.
much more needs to be done all over the world with what's considered as pets.
animals are being used as training targets for fight dogs all over.
stupid parents allow and educate there children (mostly unknowingly) to treat pets as toys, you can see that the way some kids hold there pets(youd never see a mother allow her 9 year old hold her 9 month old baby like that)
to much thought is directed twords elimination of undesired actions (of the owner), instead of the relationship at whole, or even worse, training for a single narrow lane objective, without any understanding of canines.
it's gross! i stopped contact with most dog owners i know, due to a longer and more sickening list then the above.
You know ahead of time that an animal will require medical attention some time in their life, save up for it, or don't get an animal. The animal comes last on so many peoples lists of things to buy or pay for out of their paycheck that its pitiful. I can't understand how you can afford a computer (and probably a cell phone) but yet haven't any money to help your pet that is VERY sick and or in pain.
If people cant even pay for a parvo shot they have no reason to be getting a dog!! Its a horrible disease than can easily be prevented!! I prolly paid around 300$ for all my dogs puppy shots but knowing hes healthy and has prevention against parvo and rabbies and kennel cough and all that icky stuff is well worth it for my lil guy!!
I know. My dog was a victim of people who thought that owning a dog meant having a cute little "puppy-factory" to earn them a few hundred twice a year. As a result of their irresponsible and selfish attitude, she contracted Parvo because they simply couldn't be bothered to give her her innoculations, and because her immune system was lowered by unmanaged and unsupported pregnancy.
She nearly died. But it wasn't the Parvo that lost them their cute little puppy factory, it was me. You see, my idea of love isn't ooh-ing and ahh-ing, and feeling the emotion....but something in the heart that drives a person to always put the loved one's needs, if not at the very top of the list, then real high up!
And that means doing all the things that are needed. And remembering these pets are at the mercy of us, and our world. They are dependent on us.
Most people here already feel like this about their dogs. People here are reponsible and have good hearts. But yes, we do get some "quick-fix" droppers-in who have no idea what to do with their dog. They're surfing the net trying presumably to find either reassurance, or some easy home-cure, while their dog obviously and sometimes desperately -needs the vet. They ask -we answer. We do our best, then they go away, to get on with whatever they have to do next (hopefully, start the car and drive to the vet) Some come back and let us know, because they realize we're human not robots, and may be concerned.
But we've got to bear in mind the possibility that person may be at the very beginning of their life with a dog....they may be young...they may never have had a dog before...they may have just begun to realize they are NOT number one in the world any more, they now have a dependant.....etc, etc.
And I feel they must have SOME willingness to learn, or they wouldn't bother to seek advice or medical help for their dog at all. So I always feel -give them the best we can, then it may happen that they will remember some small thing someone said once, on here. And that small thing may mean a lot to them, and even save that dog -who knows?
