Snorting, Spasming, defacating, urinating, swelling

this morning I awoke to the sound of my 6 year old male komondor snorting loudly. I investigated, and he was laying on the floor convulsing with the symptoms in the title. He was also frothing at the mouth. I patted his belly for about a half minute to comfort him until I realized it wasnt just a bad dream. His belly seemed swollen. I then threw on some clothes and pulled y pickup around to the door to load him to take him to the vet, and he was fine, just seemed a little dazed. Its been 15 minutes now and he appears as nothing happened this morning. Does anyone have any ideas what was wrong with him?

After posting, I read that most dogs are put down when they are discovered to have hemoabdomen, which is like a heart attack, but that some owners can prolong the death by three months by medicine or six by chemo. Glad to hear you extended yours by years. Did he get chemo, do you remember the type of medicine? I wouldnt spend alot for an extra six months, but 5 years is a long time. By the way my dog is pacing around the house, barking at the neighbors  dogs now. Apparently feels much better

That sounded like my Jack the morning he died, but thankfully in your case it sounds like your dog got a hold of something that made him
sick. Jack was sick on and off most the time cause of liver problems.
Most the time they put these pups down when discovered, but I saved
Jack and he lived 5 years, which is not bad for what was wrong with
him. He took meds, but one day it was just too much for him to
handle. I do miss him. I'm happy things turned our so much better
for you. I finally got a healthy dog, but he's very hyper and completely
different. Take care,

Mark
