Unable to walk on hind legs

My miniature dachshund is 8 years old. on Monday late evening he stopped moving in is hind two legs. We took him to the vet next day evening. We were told by our vet to go the neurologist as emergency and then may be surgery. We preferred to try if something works via medicine..today is Thursday and my pet is still not moving on his hind legs.Any suggestions???

Welcome.....He has ruptured a disc in his back.....Doxie's are the #1 breed for this disease......There are many things you can try, but surgery is the quickest and normally must be done in 36 hrs.

If your Vet did not label it, It's called Intervertabral Disc Disease...You can google IVDD and read everything you can find.....

Different Vets use different protocols.....I personally have had the better luck with a Holistic Vet treating w/Acupuncture & Medication combined....

You will find ALOT of info. through Dachshund forums.....Is your Vet treating it at all????  Let us know....
