FOR FALLENSTARZ( saw on older post)

Acute pancreatitis can occur after a dog eats a fatty food such as pork, beef
and some other human foods,my thought is the ham combined with "people"
food could have triggered this reaction and this could be very serious!
IF it is Pancreatitis, this is VERY PAINFUL for your dog, symptoms you've
stated seem to point to this as the reason for your dog's problems right now.
Your dog NEEDS TO BE SEEN AND TREATED BY YOUR VET ASAP,the
vet will do tests and give your fur kid the help that he needs,to wait could
cause dammage to organs or even death...PLEASE get him into see your
vet as soon as possible for treatment.
Please come back and let me(us) know how everything turned out.

Just a thought here, but maybe we should keep responses to people in the same threads that they asked their questions in?  It's bad enough we can't get the newbies to stop tacking their questions onto the ends of 7 and 8 year old threads, but when they do, that's where they are going to go to look for their answers.  By starting an entirely NEW thread to add something on, all it does is confuse people who may be coming here reading headlines to look for solutions to their problems before they ask their question.  It's just that the forum is cluttered up enough with all these ancient threads (that I WISH we could archive somehow and get out of the way PERMANENTLY) but to add all these widows and orphans that don't mean anything to anyone other than the one person who answered an ancient post just seems to add more clutter.  Just wondering.  Your thoughts?  Ginger?  Jan?   If you have a "fleeting thought" it would be better to add another post to the existing thread than to start another whole thread for one fleeting thought.

Okie Dokie Ghilly,I see your
point,I was thinking in the other
direction, perhaps VERY OLD posts that got tacked as a question might not be seen?
BUT since the old one was related to a new question I
also see where you're coming from...no problem-o..

Those "fleeting thoughts" once the button is pushed,I
know, which is why I added my last post to the first one
just now.
We got it covered, that's what is important huh?

One of the reasons I suggested you go see your vet was
your statement that he has had diarrea for 2 days( this
could cause dehydration if he's not drinking enough
water) as well as you said now on the 3rd day he is
throwing up his food and "mucas" this added issue
can also cause dehydration (loss of fluids in the body)
if he is not drinking enough water/fluids during the day
After THREE days of these problems I felt a visit to
your vet was needed rather than wait but you are the
one who is there, only you know if this is decreasing
or getting worse? (so along with the throwing up now
on day 3 does he still have diarrea for the third day?)

Wonderful Janis -thank you! No sooner had I posted than I meant to add something about acute pancreatitis, but of course we can't edit our posts! I was about to add that in a 2nd post....but you caught it. Good job.
