It could be a problem with the anal glands. They do this sliding on their butt ('scooting') when they need the glands expressing. The best thing would be to take Teddy to the vet to get that checked. It's a simple thing to do but stinks very badly so let the vet do it!
My dog always used to get worms if she ate a mouse while we were on a walk. I bought her an over-the-counter wormer. But one day the wormer made her vomit. So the next time that happened I took her to the vet and got a prescription wormer and there were no side effects from that.
But I agree with Margot that you should take a sample to the vet for analysis, to see exactly what worms Teddy might have.
Your dog may need to have it's anal glands expressed. If you don't know how to do this, your Vet can do it.
Round worms can be seen in the stool and resemble spaghetti.
Tape worms can sometimes be seen as flat, white segments moving in a "fresh" stool. With tape worm, you may see dried segments around the anus that look like rice. Tape worms come from fleas.
If you suspect worms, you should take a fresh stool sample in to the Vet to have it checked so the appropriate medication can be given
