anyone's dog gone into renal failure after one administration of Furusemide?

I took my little 16 yr old Foxie to emergency one night with a continual cough. Worried as she had been diagnosed with heart murmur but not on meds. X-ray done, no bloods but Furusemide given. Two days later nitveating, vomiting - took to her own vet - bloods done - diagnosed with renal failure. Placed on Vetmedin for heart, renal diet, anti nausea tabs etc. 6 weeks later, still not eating well, trembling a lot. Not eaten a thing for 36 hours. Back to vet and he decided to stop the vetmedin. I also same time was given some herbal kidney support by a friend. That was one month ago. She hasn't stopped eating, there is no trembling and she is doing well. Currently on no heart meds. Was it the Vetmedin that kept her in that terrible state. I really don't know. Any similar experiences out there??

No I don't have a similar experience which could help you. But I am very glad indeed to hear your little Foxy is feeling a lot better thanks to the herbs! Good on you for finding a better solution to help her
I am an advocate for using herbal medicine anyway. Always use it on myself.
I hope Foxy will go from recovering to totally better very soon.
Some drugs are essential of course, and some are downright toxic. I really don't know if vetmedin can cause such dreadful symptoms but I know some drugs definitely do.
