Bleeding problems

My 9 yo female Eng Bulldog has recently been diagnosed with CHF after gaining a lot of weight and an X-ray found a lot of fluid around her heart.  She's taking vetmedin, lasix, and some other heart med.  however, since her last menstrual cycle, she's continued to bleed from her vaginal area too.  At first, my male dogs were still acting as if she was in heat (went on for over 3 months).  I ended up getting the males fixed during this time b/c the vet said she couldn't do surgery on her b/c of her weight and age.  Anyways, now the bleeding is worse and there's a tomato- soup like discharge that pours out of her when she gets up from her dog bed.  It has ruined my floors, stinks badly, and forces me to keep her confined to my tile flooring.  Anyways, the vet put her on 2 different types on antibiotics to treat it (says it must be an infection) but nothing has helped.  She eats, drinks, urinates, etc fine.  No behavior changes what so ever.  Can't do surgery so any suggestions?  I've heard of some type of med humans use for uterus bleeding (methorgen ?sp) and something called prostaglandins to treat Pyometra?  Any of these a good idea?  Vet doesn't seem to know what's up and nearest "specialist" is over 90 miles away and costs an arm and leg for just a referral.

No, but I'm not afraid to suggest it.  I really thought there was something we could try that would stop the bleeding so much and wondered if Lasix was making the bleeding worse.
