Dear Dr Cheng,
I have a 10yr old male dalmation in India who for the last week or so has gone off food (throws up what little he eats), is very lethargic and is still drinking water and urinating normally. He has been to the vet who has put him on a daily drip with no improvement. He had his bloodwork done Friday with these values blood nitrogen-430.8 (8.8-25.9normal value); S.Creatinine 19.42 (0.5-1.6); Bilirubin direct-3.7(1.7-10.3); Albumin-20.3 (25-37); B.Sugar-6.6(3.8-5.8); Hb 7.6(12-18), TLC-18,400(6000-17000) and LFT (Liver function test-ALT,AST) are normal. The vet is telling us that there is no hope for Sultan and that we should put him down. Sultan is scheduled to be put down Monday evening Please advise and let us know if there is anything else we can do for him to save him. I have read that acute renal failure may be curable will Orgotein (Superoxide dismutase )help?
Please help me
Thank you
