I know I am a bit late but I have found that it is a good idea for you to show your dog the cats body. They instinctively seem to understand and accept.
I would get another kitten or puppy as soon as pos for both of you.

This is a really difficult question, and there will be more than one answer I guess.
I'm very sorry about the loss of your cat. And it must have just happened, as your post is timed 3 hours ago.
Asking me what you should do....what would I do? Gosh! I'm not 100% sure. I guess I would show the dog your cat's body. Animals do have an instinctive understanding of death. It would be a finality, an acceptance. But this can so depend on the dog involved. How do you feel she would react to this?
There will be some form of grief. For both of you. To a certain extent you can both share that, but don't let her get too unhappy....watch her for any signs of depression. As time goes by make sure you stay upbeat with her as much as you can, and keep normal routines, and reward her for any signs she is acting normally.
