red itchy bumps inner hind legs

My poor 2yr old pit mix just started to get this itchy red rash on her hind legs.. I've checked her all over being white it's easier than some for fleas none that I can see..I how ever did take her to my father in laws how's for I swear 10 min if that and left cause of the state of the house and his Animals.. but she never enter the home just doorway..I did change her dog food cause we are traveling to Purina natural I know it's not the best but it's all they had on the road.. my wendie is not the most social baby.. it's not the Pitt it's the hound plus she's very serious about protecting mom so we try to handle things at home until the vet it's a must since the vet calls her Hanna bell lector.. she's charming once you get to know her she's just well like her mother  trust issues. She's also very vain so she grooms a lot and I'm guilty of Appling oils and sun blocks as it is so she may be a little ocd about her fur so these bumps and itches are driving her mad..I'm more concerned about her picking up something dreadful from my father in laws house. His pets are in horrid shape as well as himself .. even though she stayed out I did pet his dog and cat.. if I must muzzle my baby I will and call my vet and give him the pleasure of her company lol but I rather try to avoid the chaos if I can first everyone's sake., it breaks my heart she's such a beast it's almost like she enjoys it cause with me she's a huge cuddle baby and my friends she's a doll but with strangers it's all bad..so if anyone has anything that can point to a solution for my naughty girl to help her itches Id be so grateful..

I can imagine the fuss involved with taking her to the vet!
My dog hated going to the vet too, but was at least polite with her teeth...but was like a wild thing in there.
Yes a soft muzzle and firm hands (yours?) to hold her steady while she is being examined etc is a good idea.

I would recommend checking this out with the vet first.
But Benadryl might help. Most dogs are okay with Benadryl in the right dosage but there can always be adverse reactions or dogs for whom it is unsuitable -so check first! Even if that is a phone call instead of a visit.

Some info (including dosage per weight) on Benadryl for dogs:
