Annoying Ears

RB8
My ears constantly fill up and pop, especially when I run. I think there is a problem in my ears causing me to get mild ear infections, have constant headaches, hearing loss and dizziness when I stand up.  It has become extremely annoying. The problem started a little over a year ago when I had three very bad ear infections in a row (caused by swimming) during which my ear drum was always inverted. The past couple months I all my symptoms seem to have gotten worse. My doctor perscribed a nasal decongestant a couple weeks ago, which seems to have helped the headaches some, but the ear popping and everything else is still just as bad. I also get migrains, which I started getting more of around the time my symptoms got worse, if that is relevant. Is there anything to help me?

Oh, I forgot one of my main, most concerning symptoms. Sometimes, very suddenly, I get a sharp pain in my ear all the way down my neck on that side. My neck stiffens so I can hardly turn it, and when I can, its not very far and hurts very bad. It also hurts very bad when I talk, swallow, or here a noise.  It is some of the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Whenever this happens, i feel something in my ear like pop out of place. But here is the strange part. It totally goes away when I take a sip of water, just leaving me sweaty, clammy, and a bit shaken from the pain. This has only happened to me like four times, but it hurts so bad, it worries me a bit.

Ask to be checked for Meniere's Disease. There is really no positive test for it,but numerous tests will rule out other problems. I have Meniere's and I can't run, jump,or do anything that could possibly cause the "crystals" in my ears to shift...this brings on an attack of vertigo (which you are describing).
I was told by an ENT that it's really not water in the ears...he said it's actually tiny crystals that get knocked around, shift, and cause imbalances etc.
