geographic tongue

I'm not sure if this problem fits into this forum but I went to my ent about it so I figured what the heck. I apparently have geographic tongue which is just inflammation of the papillae which makes circles or other shapes appear on the tongue. I was just wondering if anyone knew of anything to reduce the appearances of them or to get rid of it all together. It comes and goes about every 2 weeks or so. It's just extremely annoying and weird. So any tricks would be wonderful!

I was prescribed Carafate to swish the mouth with, also a warm water and salt rinse. It helped me, but nothing will get rid of it permanately that I have heard of.

I have it too, but never really cared enough to try to do anything about it. Truth is I don't think there is much that can be done, other than stay away from particular foods that can iritate you.

For me, Walnuts, Egg plant, and too much citric acid gets me going.
