What can a do about sore throat for over three weeks?

I've had a sore throat for over three weeks. It is hard for me to swallow sometimes. I've been to urgent care and my primary doctor. It's not strep, I was given steroids. I took the whole pack and still in pain. I cant get in with an ent til next Wednesday. Called my doctor to see what else we can do. Said to take allery meds and drink tea. Which I've been doing with no difference. My next step is the hospital but I dont want to over react. How long am I suppose to feel like this. I'm also extremely tired and achey.

With the body aches and fatigue, it's possible that you have mono: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/mononucleosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20350328
I'm surprised your doc hasn't mentioned this, although there's really not much they can do if you have it.  It just has to run its course.
