Short update. Have to take Celestone 1 mg (corticoïdes). My ENT thinks it's an infection of the inner ear. I am now at day three of my therapy and I can see a very small progress. But I am still cautious. I have to take it for eight days. Fingers crossed. I can say that hyperacusis is a true nightmare... I got used to the tinnitus but this is even worser. How much sound there is in this world... Pfff. Fingers crossed and pray ;). Thanks!
Addition: I guess it's hyperacusis, something that's common for Ménière sufferer's.
Thank you for your nice comment. I began to think about it and I guess it is 'my' Meniere that's causing it. Will hear it friday because I made an appointment with my ENT specialist just to be sure. I take betahistine (generic form of betaserc) but it doesn't work that much. I also may not take a higher dose of this medication because I get palpitations from it (I also have a slight heart disease). I am 40 by the way. Sometimes feeling 84 ;). I have earplugs now that filter the sounds somehow (for festivals which I never visited because of my ears).
Will update as soon as i have more info.
Greetings,
Katya
Hi Katya73 I also have ringing or ear noises as well. I do have TMJ and balance problems too, which I've been told is all neck and jaw related. I feel your uneasiness!
I'm presently using a med called Serc, for these
things. The noise is still there.
Good luck and share your outcome please.
