Hard lump behind ear for 4 years

Hi there, for the past 4 years I have had a hard immovable fleshy lump behind my right ear in the groove between the temporal bone and the back of my skull. It has never grown in shape or size and I have been to many doctors about this and tbh none can ever feel it which annoys me because I know it's there! I have however had one doctor feel it when I was in A and E one time and I explained that I thought it was a sarcoma since I read they were slow growing and she then said she had worked in oncology and studied cancers under the microscope and said she highly doubted it was a sarcoma due to the nature of it and what she felt. From what I gathered she explained to me that she thought when I was growing up and my bones were developing that the bone behind my ear, the mastoid bone isn't actually part of the skull and that from what she can feel it feels like a more prominent mastoid region and feels that the mastoid bone may have became slightly impacted with my skull and tissue could have been pushed out and the lump felt calcified. I'm not sure if she said this I wasn't really listening at the time as I was so worried but this is what my mum gathered. I then told the woman that I read soft tissue sarcomas can be slow growing and she said that this can be true but they are slow growing in deep tissue such as leg tissue that's why they take a while in getting diagnosed as it takes them a while to grow big enough to be felt but they still grow, something this lump has not done in 4 years so she wasn't too worried and didn't want to send me for any scans. I have however recently seen my GP and asked him to refer me to someone at ENT to see if they can give me scans as I have also always had enlarged lymph nodes in the area that have always made me increasingly worried as they have to be enlarged for a reason, however yet again, no doctors have been concerned as of yet. My question here really is, can this growth behind my ear be cancerous if it has not grown or changed shape in 4 years? Any response would be greatly appreciated as I will most likely need to wait a month to be referred to ENT so that's a month of worrying
